Educational Pathway Agreements
District Teaching as Profession Pathway
The District’s Education Pathway program, which introduces students to the world of the classroom teacher and provides them with opportunities to actively participate in a public school classroom setting during their junior and senior years in high school, includes the following courses (course numeration and title might slightly differ depending on the high school):
13.01100 Examining the Teaching Profession
13.01200 Contemporary Issues in Education
13.01300 Teaching as a Profession Practicum
Additional information on these courses can be found at Georgia Department of Education
The objectives and outcomes of these courses are in alignment with the EDUC 2110 Critical and Contemporary Issues course in Area F of the ÑDz©¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ curriculum for teacher education. A letter from the relevant representative high school officer attesting to the completion of the pathway along with its portfolio/projects is necessary to consider extending the EDUC 2110 course credit.
Students entering ÑDz©¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾ should meet with an Bagwell Advisement & Student Success Center (BASSC) advisor to provide the letter to request for the EDUC 2110 course credit and to discuss
requirements for Admission to an education program.
The Regents’ Engineering Pathway (REP) was established in 1986 to expand the availability of engineering education opportunities for Georgians. By completing two or more years of pre engineering courses at participating University System of Georgia (REP Partner) institutions, you can then transfer to one of Georgia's REP Engineering Institutions to complete a Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
Engineering Institutions include:
Georgia Institute of Technology
Georgia Southern University
ÑDz©¹Ù·½ÍøÕ¾
Mercer University
University of Georgia
